Leo was a little lion cub who loved to dream. He dreamed of running the fastest, roaring the loudest, and exploring the biggest mountains.
But there was one problem—Leo was afraid of trying new things.
One day, the older lions planned a race through the savanna. "I want to join!" Leo said excitedly.
The other cubs laughed. "You’re too small, Leo! You’ll never win!"
Leo’s ears drooped. Maybe they were right.
That night, Leo’s mother sat beside him. "Why are you sad?" she asked.
"What if I lose the race?" Leo whispered.
His mother smiled. "Winning isn’t the important part. Being brave enough to try is what makes you strong."
Leo thought about this. Maybe he didn’t have to win—maybe he just had to try.
The next morning, the race began. The other cubs ran fast, kicking up dust. Leo’s heart pounded. "I can do this!" he thought.
He ran as fast as his little paws could go. The wind rushed past his face, and he felt free.
He didn’t finish first, but he wasn’t last either. And when he crossed the finish line, all the lions cheered!
"You did it, Leo!" his mother said proudly.
Leo smiled. He had learned something important—dream big, be brave, and never be afraid to try.
